The transport in Barcelona

The transport in Barcelona is fast and is very well connected, though perhaps, in my opinion, the goverment should close the subway later, because many times I had to take a taxi at night (about 12AM) because the subway closes.

But dont worry if you are someone who like to go out at night, in Barcelona there are night buses running all night, and if you are various friends, the taxi can be economical.
You dont need a different ticket for each type of transport. A only one transport ticket works for subway, bus, train and tram.
You can buy the ticket in the offices at the airport , the train station, machines in the stations and kiosks on the street.

I recommend buying the ticket called "T-10", which is 9'95 € for 10 trips.

Subway

It is very spacious, easy and you can reach almost all areas of Barcelona. One disadvantage, in my opinion, is that sometimes you have to walk a lot, sometimes because there are many stairs, and sometimes because there are long passages. (For example at the station "Passeig de Gràcia").
Something I learned living in Barcelona, it is that sometimes I get to my destination earlier taking the bus. Of course if the distance to your destination is long, the subway will keep being the fastest option. The other disadventage is that there is no subway to get to the airport, so you have to use the train, bus or taxi.


Bus

Many lines, almost all parts of Barcelona. I think the bus is the most comfortable and most recommended option for tourists to see the city. Usually fast.

Train

Similar to the subway, but it has less stations so you arrive earlier to the destination. It is recommended to go to the airport. It is very convenient and fast.

Tram

Not very used in Barcelona yet and I still don't know many people who used it, not even me. From the tourist point of view, it is not very useful, but I know only through it , you can go to some areas of the city.

Taxi

The faster and more convenient, recommended only when you're in a hurry, it is expensive.
However compared to other European cities doesnt seem too expensive.
From airport to city center is around 25 €. Since the Railway Station "Sants" to the "Ramblas" is around 10 €.

El transporte en Barcelona es rápido y está muy bien comunicado, aunque quizás para mi gusto y mi opinión, el ayuntamiento debería de cerrar el metro más tarde, porque muchas veces he tenido que coger un taxi por la noche (sobre las 12AM) porque el metro cierra.

Pero no te preocupes si eres de los que les gusta salir de noche, en Barcelona hay buses nocturnos que circulan toda la noche, y si sois varios, el taxi os sale económico.
No necesitas un ticket diferente para cada tipo de transporte. Un solo ticket de transporte sirve para el metro, el bus, el tren y el tranvía.
El ticket lo puedes comprar en las oficinas de información del aeropuerto y la estación de trenes, en las máquinas de las estaciones y el quioscos en la calle.

Recomiendo comprar el ticket llamado "T-10", que son 10 viajes pagando 9'95€.

Metro
Es muy amplio, fácil y puedes llegar a casi todas las partes de Barcelona. Uno de los inconvenientes, según mi opinión, es que a veces tienes que andar mucho, si no es porque hay muchas escaleras, es porque hay largos pasadizos. (Ejemplo el metro del Passeig de Gràcia).
Si algo he aprendido viviendo en Barcelona, es que a veces llego antes a mi destino cogiendo el autobús. Por supuesto si la distancia a tu destino es larga, el metro seguirá siendo la opción más rápida. El otro inconveniente es que no hay metro para llegar al aeropuerto, por lo que habrá que usar el tren, autobús o taxi.


Bus

Muchas lineas, a casi todas partes de Barcelona. Me parece lo más cómodo y lo más recomendable para el turista, para ver el recorrido por las calles de Barcelona. Suele ser rápido.

Tren

Parecido al metro, pero tiene menos estaciones por lo que se llega antes al destino. Es lo más aconsejable para ir al aeropuerto. Es muy cómodo y rápido.

Tranvía

Aun no se muy bien el uso de este transporte ni conozco mucha gente que lo haya usado, ni siquiera yo. Desde el punto de vista turístico no es muy útil, pero sé que solo a través de él se llega a algunas zonas de la ciudad.

Taxi

Lo más rápido y cómodo, aconsejable solo cuando tengas mucha prisa, pues es caro. Sin embargo respecto a otras ciudades europeas no me parece demasiado caro. Desde el aeropuerto al centro de la ciudad ronda los 25€. Desde la "Estación de Trenes" de "Sants" a las "Ramblas" ronda los 10€.
